Eastern Great Egret

Ardea alba modesta

Description:

Big slender long legged bird. White with long orange beaks and grey legs.

Habitat:

In a village in Bali. Near rice fields and lots of trees to nest in (although they didn't seem to mind being all packed up together)

Notes:

At about 6 pm these birds come flocking in to spend the night. An amazing sight! Be careful of bird poop!
