Banded Tussock Moth caterpillar

Halysidota tessellaris

Description:

Small white caterpillar with dark tufts on its head end. The caterpillar was about 2.5 cm (1 inch) long.

Habitat:

City park

Notes:

The identification is based on a not very good image that I compared to images of Tussock Moth butterflies.

Thank you, Spenser. I looked up some Tussock Moth caterpillars and I am thinking perhaps it's a Banded Tussock Moth (Halysidota tessellaris).

Can't really see much, but my best guess is Orgyia leucostigma
