The way the head looked made me think that it was some kind of slider but the shell makes me think that it is a western painted turtle. Red ear sliders' shell is slightly keeled on its carapace and this shell looks pretty smooth.

Thnx , for all we know it could be a red eared slider. The tail holds me back from calling it one.

I'am going to se the comments,i have to contact the organization i talk about when we comment the feeding problem,i'll talk to them about this to,the reason i dont contact them yet,it's a question a disponible time:)i have to wait a few weeks more to have the extra time that permit me to go there and talk whith my friend that work there.I dont like to phoned in this kind of matter,i like to go meet the people and feel the way's of the organization work so i can join in my time possibilitys and make something to elp.there i know thjere is no Audobon in Porto but exists in portugal,i'am shoore, but i like to talk whith the local's:-)they know the local problems and in this case they have all the international contacts.mean wild i make a list of problems and questions that i want to make them.
They can walk and seems to survive well, the whithe one whithout a leg, that i spott several weeks ago, is allways the first to apear when people give them food,so they survive very well,i presume whith some pain but in any case they are tuff guys:),it would be a shame if the problem is caused by fishing nets cuts,it's a "mistery" to solved

Antonio, I left comments on your spotting. Do you have "Audobon Portugal out there? They would be able to tell you the answers. Could be some genetic mutations or as simple as the fisherman's nest. In either case a sad situation indeed. Makes you very angry if it was the nets. Netting and plastics create a havoc for wild life. The marine mammal center takes in many seals which have been choking on fisherman's nets
The best part though is they can also fly . Looks like they are able to walk too .

The other day we talk about the deformed feet of the pigeons and i told that i have seen several.i spotted allready them, two days ago,and i would like that you take a look.i know now how to make the copy paste of the link:)
i have another photo of a pigeon whith strings in the feet like you said it could be,i'll loaded it latter, but these ones i think is some illness or mal formation.
