Ardea Herodias (Great Blue Heron)
The Great Blue Heron is a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, It's head-to-toe length is 91-137cm, a wingspan of 167-201cm, a height of 115-138cm, and a weight of 2.1-3.6kg. Some notable features of the Great Blue Heron include slaty flight feathers, red-brown thighs, and a paired red-brown and black stripe up the flanks; the neck is rusty-gray; with black and white streaking down the front; the head is paler with a nearly white face; and the bill is dull yellowish. The Grey heron also shares the same environment as the Great Blue Heron. Beavers and the Great Blue heron share a symbiotic relationship, they share mutualism so they both benefit. The beaver builds a dam and collects lots of water which benefits them, and all the water means more fish for the Great Blue Herons to eat.
The Ardea Herodias (Great Blue Heron) is common near the shores of open water and in wetlands over most of North America and Central America as well as the Caribbean and the Galapagos Islands. The Great Blue Heron eats small fish and sometimes shrimp and crabs.
