A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pityopsis graminifolia
Very plentiful plant with yellow flowers; fluffy seeds; and flat, grass-like leaves.
In an area surrounded by pines in the Withlacoochee State Forest Citrus Tract
According to the reference link, "this complex was recently revised to recognize five species occurring in Florida: P. aequilifolia (endemic), P. latifolia (endemic), P. graminifolia s.str., P. microcephala, and P. tracyi (endemic) (Weakley et al. 2018)." I'm not sure which it is, so I am leaving it at this species for now.
