Mostly black, except white under the wings, yellow-orange bill Often seen drying itself after fishing,
Ponds, slow-moving streams.
Apparently these guys can't fly if their wings are wet, which is one of the reasons why they "dry" their wings like this. I got really close to one once. They are amazing birds.
Nice photo! but It looks like an anhinga. the beak is thin and the head is small.
