Short-toed Treecreeper

Certhia brachydactyla

Description:

Small passerine bird with earthy colors above, and whitish to buffish below; it sports a medium sized curved and slender bill.

Habitat:

Seen on a small wooded and inhabited island on river Saône, not too far away from the centre of Lyon.

Notes:

Difficult to ascertain between the two look-alikes, Short-toed and Common Treecreeper... the pic is of low quality, and I was unable to follow it and see it once again. But I settled for the Short-toed for its habitat - more deciduous lowland wooded area; and the fact that it is a more common resident in urban settings.
