A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Smaller mushroom with a yellowish, domed cap with white flakes. Stem and gills are whitish. Base is rounded. Almost all of the mushrooms of this type that I found had tiny fly larvae (maggots) on them somewhere.
Temperate forest. Connetquot River State Park, New York.

Judging by the red-ish dicolouration I think it's probably Amanita rubescens
