Yellow Lantana

Lantana horrida ; Lantana urticoides

Description:

Yellow lantana can grow from three inches to six inches long and two and a half inches wide. It is a type of flower and bush. The color can vary from pink or orange or other colors as well. The flower grows in little bunches along the bush. There are four petals on the flower. The stem of the flower is kind of long connecting it to the rest of the plant. The fruit of the plant is very tiny and round. The leaves of this plant is pointed at the top with jagged edges. The leaves are a plain green and the spine and veins along the leaf are a lighter shade of green.

Habitat:

This spotting was made on Paʻaoloulu Way, Kapolei. This plant can be found in Hawaiʻi or Texas, but it is native to Mexico through Venuzuela.

Notes:

This plant is an invasive alien plant to Hawaiʻi, Texas, Australia, and Israel. It has also been used for cross breeding and experimentation.
