It took me for ever to get a decent photo of this butterfly. Actually there are two of them, one more yellowish and the other white (male and female), but obviously they were too fast to take a normal photo of them in copulation. It flies from early in the spring to the end of the year in multiple broods.
Across all of Europe but it was also found it in the USA and Australia, it is a truly adaptable species! It prefers open places in all habitats from woodland, meadowland and mountains to urban areas. This photos were taken in the botanical garden of University of Zagreb that is located in the middle of the urban area.
The larvae feed on a wide range of plants, principally, but not exclusively, the Cruciferae (Cabbages). Related spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/225...
