Wood Stork

mycteria americana

Description:

Large water bird I rarely get to see so close. It was fun to watch him spread one of his wings to "herd" small fish where they could be more easily captured.

Habitat:

wetland

Notes:

Interesting and large bird. Fishing for small fish by "herding" them with wings.
