Sign In to followAquatic tenrecs have partial webbing between toes and are excellent swimmers. The majority of their diet comes from the rivers and streams--small fish, crustaceans, etc. With this type of diet, they don't have to compete with the more terrestrial tenrecs.

Malcolm: I believe there is a brown male variant but I didn't see one on this trip. I'll be posting a picture of a female on the nest shortly.
