A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hi AshleyT, I do know that there are at least three of them... they were hanging out in one of my trees about a year ago, but it was so dark when they were out that I wasn't able to get a good shot of them. Hopefully all three will show up again in the daylight one day! :)
Thanks for the comments! I have added it to the mission Raptors of North America and the scientific name. :)
Thanks Arun for the ID! I appreciate it! :)
Thanks Kristal for the ID/link! I had no idea what this was and even more amazed that their larva (doodlebugs) are those little sand pit things I see all over the place! : )
Thanks so much Karen for your comment and ID! : )
Thanks Alice and p.young for the comments. Thanks for the ID (p.young)! I appreciate it! : )
Thanks for the correction! The owl did stay around for about 2 weeks, but is now gone. I no longer hear it in the middle of the night. I believe there were 2 of them hooting, but I only ever saw one. I hope that they do return in the winter, it was an amazing sight to see!
Thanks, Emma!! I still haven't figured out what this is... I am hoping that someone on here is able to ID it...
Thank you ErinLucy for the ID! =)
Love this! What an amazing shot of this beautiful butterfly!
