they shed fur in the summer - how cool! and it makes sense - since when there is no snow having white coat means to stand out
thanks Kathleen! it's tentatively Pholiota squarrosoides, if they are still around late Oct, there will be a mycology society mushroom show i could bring them for ID confirmation. definitely thinking of going mushroom hunting soon here, it's the most exciting season of the yr.
it's in banff NP, which has more of the glacier-fed lakes. Jasper isn't far though, and it would have more wildlife since it's less touristy
