A strange subgroup of Click beetles, long time believed to belong elsewhere:
Lissomini tribe
Quite a lot Tortoise beetles, different genera, feed on Ipomoea.
Yours belongs in genus Laccoptera-

1) West coast;
2) pattern + no large spine on neck.

I see three tufts - one yellow, two black. Matches completely with description - only size does not (3.5 - 5.5 mm).
That does not matter so much. Size variation of 100% or even more is frequent in dead wood beetles.

This is Alagoasa jacobiana. You have a second spotting of the species.
