Lined leaf beetle

Paropsisterna lineata

Description:

This black leaf beetle has shiny black elytra and several light stripes along the body. The overall shape is flat (less convex) than diurnal beetles as it spends daytime hours hiding under bark.

Habitat:

Under the rough fibrous bark of stringybark eucalyptus. There were several found together. I think I interrupted their sleep :(

Notes:

Finally :) I've been expecting to find this one for some time now. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/886... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/118... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/356...
