Honeycomb Bracket Fungus

Hexagonia sp.

Description:

Like a shelf jutting out. The top surface is honey-combed.

Habitat:

My neighbour uses chopped branches planted in a protective circle around small plants that she has planted alongside her boundary wall, basically to discourage wandering cows from munching her plants. This fungus was growing on one of those branches. Residential area.

Nice one, Sukanya. I don't know which species this is, but maybe it's one in the Hexagonia genus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexagonia
