Beetle

Pimelia costata

Description:

Looks like Necrodes nigricornis but I can find no evidence that it is found in Portugal or even in Europe. It does not have the 3 red blobs on the antenna end of N. littoralis.

Habitat:

Coastal headland

Thanks Paul, I have added your scientific name but left the spotting as "needs ID" in the hope that someone else may be able to confirm. At least that species has been reported from SW Spain and Morocco so it's close.
