Black Skimmers are very rare in San Francisco Bay, but small groups of 2-3 individuals are being sighted at a couple locations along the bay this year.

Beautiful photos Donna. The first time I seen one of these I thought something had bitten off the tip of the top portion of the beak. You captured these with great detail which will definitely make it easier to identify them in the wild.
