Description:

The dark-eyed junco has returned for the winter here in Maryland in my yard. They are ground feeders that accumulate under the bird feeders to get the seed the other birds drop on the ground. They are dark-eyed birds with a gray-to-charcoal chest, head and back. White belly. Pink bill.
