Multicoloured. Thorax is yellow with a blackish-blue oval spot. Back has bands in the same blackish-blue on a yellowish-pink background.

Habitat:

On a weed-infested patch of land.

Lovely find. Definitely a Syrphidae (hoverfly) of some kind and a very pretty one. Size might be important?
