(Mating) Swainson's Hawks

Buteo swainsoni

Notes:

I was photographing a female Swainson's Hawk in an old cottonwood tree. She was very relaxed and I sat there for a while just watching her watch me. I was just about to leave when a male flew in out of no where and...got busy! He was a very noisy lover! Ha! It only lasted a few seconds. After, they sat together for a few minutes. The male flew away first, followed shortly by the female. ...I couldn't help but feel like I interrupted their rendezvous!

Ha! Perfect timing! I love the last shot where they're gazing into each others' eyes!! ;-)
