Charadrius vociferus
Killdeer inhabit fields, roadsides, airports, shorelines, and parks.
This killdeer set up her nest very close to a drive. In one of the photos you will see her sitting on one of her eggs, and in the other you will see one of her young sitting mostly under her warm feathered chest.

Thanks Snowy, and thank you as well Emma. If all goes well, and I can find the time needed, I will be putting up many more spottings, some new, some newer, and some from a while ago. I do have some rather nice ones I can still put up, it is just a matter of putting them together on a computer with internet access, and then putting a series up. I can only do this at home, and when I am not busy watching my two grandkids. ( limited time at present )
Willie ,these are cute.I bet you ,you have treasures and treasures still hidden!
Adorable! Great series again!
Thanks Adam, if you ever have the chance to see these birds while they are nesting, you should. The adults will fake a broken wing, or being hurt and cry out and try to lead you away from the nest. It is a quite a sight to see if you never have had the opportunity to witness it.
nice photos! and interesting bird....so strange they just nest on the ground
Thank you Anne Marie

Thank you so much, Jeannette
