Loxia curvirostra
medium stocky reddish-orange finch with distinctive crossed bill used for prying seeds out of conifer cones. Although at a glance could be confused with house finch, the bird is stockier, more orange and has more color on its body. The female is yellowish-green(in photo two, she is between the right hand male goldfinch and the female goldfinch and in 5 at the far right)
