Brown thrasher, nest and eggs

Toxostoma rufum

Description:

When I spotted this nest in my cherry tree that is overgrown with grape vines, I didn't know which bird it belonged to, until the parents in a neighboring tree began berating me until I left the vicinity!

Thanks! Wow, it's cool that other thrashers helped defend the nest. When the thrashers were fussing at me, a couple of mockingbirds started mimicking them, but they weren't paying me any attention!

I will do that, Mandy, and add a few others. Today, when I went to look at the nest, not only the parents but other thrashers arrived to join in the defense! :)

Oooh, since your series shows the proud parents as well as their nest and eggs, would you please add it to my mission, "Southern Romance"?

Nice photos!
Haha, the thrashers nesting in my yard have been berating me too, and anything that moves. They sure can make a racket when they want to.
