White-spotted Sable

Anania funebris

Description:

Smaller moth with striking color. Black with large white spots on the wings and orange on the shoulders. This moth is known to be active during the day. It was landing in the grass and crawling underneath then coming back out and flying.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.

Notes:

Seen outside of the building where I work. Unfortunately, I was using my phone camera and this moth did not hold still for any other decent photos. Sorry.
