Goldenrod Leaf Beetle

Trirhabda canadensis

Description:

10mm long. Head is yellow with black eyes and a posterior central black squarish spot, which is distinctive. Pronotum is yellow with 1 black spot on each side and a central black spot. Elytra is pale yellow with black interior and lateral margins. Antenna are filamentous. The first few segments are largely yellow with the remainder completely black.

Habitat:

Found on a Goldenrod leaf in a small patch of Tall Goldenrod in an urban backyard.
