Águila pescadora (Osprey)

Pandion haliaetus

Description:

The Osprey differs in several respects from other diurnal birds of prey. Their diet consists of fish. The Osprey and owls are the only raptors whose outer toe is reversible, allowing them to grasp their prey with two toes in front and two behind. We could only take shots in the distance. Then I have read that ospreys are rare visitors in the parc, so then we were lucky to see it.

Habitat:

Marshes between El Palmar and La muntanyeta dels Sants.
