It is a white bird adorned with buff plumes in the breeding season. It nests in colonies, usually near bodies of water and often with other wading birds.
La Albufera, Valencia.
Making pics of these birds was extraordinarily difficult even though they are abundant in the marshes neard roads in La Albufera. If you are in a car is Ok but try to get out and they will immediately set flight. I wonder how much this is due to illegal hunting happening in this area.
