Cabbage White Butterfly - female

Description:

The Cabbage White butterfly is native to Europe and was introduced into Canada and the eastern United States. It now is found throughout North America. Females have two dark spots on the upperside, while males only have one. Cabbage White larvae are considered to be major crop pests. Cruciferous vegetable host plants include cabbage, cauliflower, kale, mustard greens & radish. Predators of the Cabbage White include shield bugs, ambush bugs, vespid wasps, parasitic wasps and tachinid flies.

Habitat:

Throughout North America & many other parts of the world. A large variety of habitats. Host Plants: Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collard, horseradish, kale, kohlrabi, nasturtium, sweet alyssum.
