Alcelaphus buselaphus
Silky reddish-brown coat, ringed horns that come together to form a heart shape. Horns are present in both sexes however male horns are heavier set than that of the female. Horns are set close together at base. They have a long narrow face with a black blaze running down the front of the face. Black markings on all four legs. Its back slopes down from its front to hindquarters. Rump and upper thighs are lighter than rest of the body. In the third photo you can see a juvenile with horn development typical of a calf of approx 3 months
At first glance the red hartebeest can be confused with the endangered Tsessebe (see spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/115...), however, this antelope is fairly common.

Yea really cute, tried to hide away from us as soon as the car stopped so we could take a photo :) I like them too, but I think my fav are the kudu and nyalas!
Love the little baby! These are my favorite of all the antelopes :)
