Females have a red nape and a reddish spot around base of the bill. The face, crown and underparts are gray. The back is barred black and white.
With a male near a new nest hole in a snag along the wooded edge of a greenbelt.

Yes :) going to have to check that new nest in the snag. Maybe get a lucky baby shot
