A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anas clypeata
Males have a iridescent green head and a yellow eye. They have a white chest and rusty colored sides. The females are gray brown with some light edged feathers. Eyes are brown and bills are olive green with a yellow edge. Both have long spoon shaped bills that are wider at the tip than the base. The bills have comblike projections for straining food from the water.
