White Fungi

Amanita sp.

Description:

White mushroom shaped fungi w/ white stem and gills.

Habitat:

This specimen was observed in a County park. It was growing in an area covered primarily w/ Slash Pine and Oak trees. The covered provided mostly shade. The ground was basically dry soil. There were no other fungi observable in the area.

Amanita section Lepidella. These can be fairly hard to narrow down, and as with most Amanitas it usually helps to see the base.
