Sula leucogaster
nest in colonies on predator-free tropical islands, especially coral atolls. they are birds of the open ocean, sometimes resting on the water when far from land but often returning to islets or manmade perches (buoys, channel markers, jetties) to rest.
2 adults and 1 juvenile (all brown) kept pace with the cruise ship I was on and provided quite the Christmas morning show right outside my balcony for many hours as they hunted flying fish that were flying out to escape the passing ship.
