African grey Flycatcher

Bradornis microrhynchus

Description:

Some 15cm in length, grey upperparts and pale underparts, lightly streaked crown. Note the tick next to its eye.

Habitat:

Endemic to East Africa, seen in savannahs (here Nairobi NP)

Notes:

This was a lucky encounter while driving around in Nairobi NP - I noticed this small bird in a fleeting moment, and stopped the car... and was then lucky enough that the bird was patient enough to pose for few shots... Apparently, since 2010 placed in genus Melaenornis - which is still not reflected in many sources (IUCN, specialised books etc).
