A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pseudohydnum gelatinosum
Small, prolific fungus up to 1 inch across in size. Dark brown flat top (which turned much lighter with the flash) - similar looking to a bracket fungus. Very interesting white pointed gills(?) underneath. Soft and floppy to touch.
Growing on wet, mossy eucalypts.
Thanks Argy, I thought I had the mystery solved. Thanks Rachel, hopefully you can find it.
Nice Dan, I did come across something similar to your spotting when I was searching for mine. I'll see if I can find the link again.
Fabulous shots of these Rachael !!
@Dan I believe this is a world-wide species... but yours looks very different to me. Very interesting one.
Very cool. I saw something very similar in China, do you think it could be related?

Thanks for the ID Leuba. I've never seen anything like it before - quite interesting. Very happy with my new macro lens :-)
These look like a healthy growth of this jelly fungus. They remind me of jubes !! - you've got some great pics, Rachael.
