Weevil

Description:

Small black weevils with two bright whitish streaks on the elytra, about 7 mm long. They were on the base of a dark woody plant (last picture), I moved them to other substrates for some pictures. Family Cuculionidae, Subfamily Baridinae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
