Description:

Tachinid Fly with an orange and black abdomen. It was very pesky, wanting the salt on our skin. These flies are parasites as larvae on other insects. Family Tachinidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
