Description:

Dark-branded Bushbrown or Dark Brand Bushbrown, Mycalesis mineus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Nymphalidae; Satyrinae) is found in Asia. The occurring subspecies in the Luzon Philippines area is Mycalesis mineus philippina Moore, 1892. Recorded hostplants: Eleusine indica, Leersia hexandra, Lophatherum gracile, Microstegium ciliatum, Pogonatherum crinitum, Thysanolaena latifolia (Gramineae/Poaceae).

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted in the ceiling of the garage.

Fore wings with more than 2 eye spots cannot be "Mycalesis mineus".
