Pindara moth

Pindara illibata

Description:

Pindara illibata is a purplish brownish grey moth from the Erebidae family. Size: about 7cm it's wingspan. Wings have bluish area on the front wings near to the thorax, thick yellow lines in front the front wings, black wingtips.

Habitat:

Kundasang highland forests, Sabah, Malaysia. Caterpillars live on some Euphorbiaceae tree species.

Notes:

One of the strangers moth that I have ever seen, unfortunately this single photograph was blurred. The spotting is still on moths in Aristo inn's men's washroom. This is the last spotting of 2009Dec11. At least 70 spottings from this date is uploaded.>>>Map accuracy : 25 m diameter.
