European Honeysuckle Moth

Ypsolopha dentella

Description:

Family: Ypsolophidae. A common Falcate-winged moth. Small narrow-winged moth. TL 10 mm but very narrow resembling a sliced almond. Chocolate brown FW and pale stripe along top. Striped white and black antennae. Hosts: Honeysuckle. (Nocturnal although spotted during daytime resting on leaves)

Habitat:

Edge of woods and lawn in shrubs during the day. (Range: Southern Canada and Northeast USA)

Notes:

First spotting for Butterflies and Moths of North America in the entire state of Pennsylvania.
