Description:

I'm hoping this is 'reindeer moss' but I don't know yet. There was quite a large mass of this stuff, about 5'' or 6'' inches growing either directly on the peat or on top of something else like moss or heather. It was very dry and almost brittle

Notes:

If this is reindeer moss, Ray Mears says you can eat this stuff although I don't know how to prepare it
