Project Noah Fact of the Day: Tridacna is a genus of large saltwater clams, marine bivalve mollusks in the subfamily Tridacninae. These giant clams have heavy, fluted shells and the mantle is brightly colored. They inhabit shallow waters of coral reefs in warm seas of the Indo-Pacific region. They live in symbiosis with photosynthetic algae (zooxanthellae).~Wikipedia
