Description:

Very similar in appearance to the Common Five-ring Ypthima baldus (Fabricius, 1775). Ypthima stellera stellera (Eschscholtz, 1821) (Nymphalidae; Satyrinae), is the common fivering occurring in Luzon. Y. baldus occurs in the Philippines only in Balabac, Palawan as ssp Y. baldus selinuntius Fruhstorfer, 1911.
