Harvestman

Opiliones sp.

Description:

his particular species of Opiliones have long, slender legs and a body that appears to be suspended from those long legs. While they appear to be spiders they have many differences. They do not have, for instance, venom or silk glands. They can take in solid food, unlike spiders. The Opiliones also have a single pair of eyes (although there are Opiliones dwelling in caves and termite mounds that are eyeless).

Habitat:

I found this particular "daddy longlegs" on a bush along a lake shore forested in pines.
