Hibiscus sabdariffa

Description:

A bushy, annual shrub rowing to 6ft. When flower petals wither, the sepals grow, becoming fleshy, and unsweetened. It is made as a traditional drink in the Caribbean, especially around Christmas.

Habitat:

The plant originated from the Old World Tropics used for the production of bast fibre and as an infusion.
