Crimson Rosella (juvenile)

Description:

A brilliantly coloured parrot of the Australian high country (although it does venture to lower altitudes). Adults are deep crimson with blue cheek patch, blue on wings and tail with darker wing and tail markings, the juveniles (as in this spotting) show green/yellow feathers and black markings that change as it develops. Seed and nectar feeder, bell chime-like call.

Habitat:

Inhabits high country of eastern Australia and some south east regions, also introduced to off shore islands and New Zealand where it also thrives.
