I've never been able to get very close to them at all! I have quite a bit of zoom on my camera so sometimes get good shots, but I get many more terrible shots of them haha

Weird, I've heard many times that they're unafraid of humans...can't trust the books all the time!

I just spent the day chasing/photoing vermilions in So Arizona. They are shy and hard to approach. Good job Ashley!

Yeah in Southeastern Arizona. Only 1 adult male though, and I didn't really get a shot I was pleased with.
