Stereum illudens
Purplish sheet like growths with upturned pale margins on dead wood are fairly common. They start as small dark patches with margins lifting away from the wood to form shelves. The shelving parts of the fungi are hairy and have concentric zones with some of the fruiting bodies fusing to form large thin plaques.
Spotted on underside of dead wood in a damp eucalypt forest - Sherbrooke Forest, Dandenong Ranges.
Spores are said to be white.
